Percussion Ensemble

Percussion Ensemble meets on Monday mornings 8.15 - 9.00am in the Small Hall & is for boys and girls in Years 4, 5 and 6.

The ensemble is run by Gary Holmes, an experienced percussion teacher with Brighton & Hove Music Service.

Percussion Ensemble members learn to play the following instruments:

  • Darbuka (a drum from the middle east)
  • Cahon (another type of drum from Peru. This instrument is a bit like a big box which you sit on to play.)
  • Djembe (a type of African drum)
  • Cow Bells (yes really - like the alpine cattle wear!!)

The cost of this ensemble is usually £25 per term, payable in full (via Parentpay), before sessions begin. Typically, there are 8 -10 sessions per term with 20 places available.
