Year 4 Watercycle Singing Project

Welcome to the

Year 4 Watercycle Singing Project page!!

September - December 2014

This was a project Westdene School was chosen to take part in with 3 other Brighton Primary schools, an adult choir (Brighton Early Music Festival Community Choir) and a professional orchestra (The Orchestra of the Age of the Enlightenment- OAE) . Our year 4 children were lucky enough to be involved & 17 of them learnt to play the bassoon as part of the project!!

The children worked in their music lessons to learn 3 songs (all based around a theme of water) which they performed in their end of project concert in early December 2014. We were also very fortunate to receive 2 visits in school from members of  OAE who led workshops with the children during the autumn term.

Children who already had instrumental lessons on the violin, guitar, recorder or mandolin also had the opportunity to perform with the OAE in our concert on Friday 5th December 2014!!
